Perguruan Tinggi), are Act of Republic of Indonesia Number 20, Year 2003 on National Education System (Chapter XVI, Part Two, Article 60 and 61); Government Regulation Number 19, Year 2005 on National Standard for Education (Chapter XIII Article 86, 87, 88, and 92 verse 5); and Education and Culture Ministerial Decree No. 187/U/1998. According to those legal bases NBAHE has four objectives 1. Arrange and manage a system of periodical evaluation (accreditation) for higher education institutions and study programs. 2. Conducts all activities on national wide evaluation and accreditation of higher education institutions and study programs. 3. General Guideline For Accreditation Of Higher Education Institution 6 Criterion: Resources: Measure: The agency has sufficient resources to run its operations in accordance with its mission statement and objectives Description: Up until August 2004, NABHE had accredited 6.283 study programs. In the year 2005 NABHE expected 1.500 study programs to be accredited, this number is quite significant changes due to the acknowledgment of NABHE role in Indonesian higher education as describe in Government Regulation Number 19, Year 2005. At the end of 2007, NABHE are expected to conduct accreditation for higher education institution in Indonesia. NABHE higher education institution database 7 Criterion: External quality assurance criteria and processes: Measure: The description of the processes and criteria applied should be transparent and publicly available and normally include: self evaluation, site visit, public report and follow-up measure Description: The NABHE accreditation criteria and processes are published in printed and electronic documents. Theses documents can be access through NABHE website (http://www.ban-pt.or.id). Every study programs are expected to read the General Guideline For Accreditation Of Higher Education Institution, before continuing to focus on accreditation instrument according to their level of education. All accreditation instruments witch are use by NABHE 8 Criterion: Quality assurance: Measure: The description of the processes and criteria applied should be transparent and publicly available and normally include: self evaluation, site visit, public report and follow-up measure Description: In 2002 NABHE conducting self-evaluation to assure that the accreditation process had done properly, beside to overview itâ??s position on Indonesian higher education system. On the other hand NABHE always review accreditation instrument periodically. For example, the S1 (Sarjana level/undergraduate level) and S2 (Master level/graduate level) instruments each had undergone 2 major reviews, the review lead to major changes in the instruments meet higher education demand new paradigm.
