The objectives include. 1. Developing national professional standards for elementary and secondary school teachers. 2 Developing a mechanism for the conduct and evaluation of teacher education programs for accreditation purpose. 3 Establishing policies and developing standards and instruments for evaluation of teacher education programs. 4 Creating awareness, understanding and interest among the teacher education institutions, teacher educators, professionals and other stakeholders regarding the importance and need of accreditation. 5 Performing other activities that may directly or indirectly lead towards the attainment of the quality teacher education through accreditation process. 3 Criterion: : Proof of the organisation’s good standing with the local QA agency Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan has rated NACTE as equal to the other three constituted accreditation councils.
