Criteria Requirements for Associate MemberAssociate Member Criteria: Measure:Associate Members are organisations with a major interest and active involvement in evaluation, accreditation and quality assurance in higher education, but without the responsibility for assuring the quality of institutions, education programs, or external quality assurance agencies Criteria Requirements for Intermediate Member1 Criterion: Nature of the operations of the agency: Measure: The agency is responsible for reviews at institutional or programme level of post-secondary education institutions or post-secondary quality assurance agencies Description: The national quality assurance and accreditation (QAA) system for higher education has been designed and finalization of its overall operational mechanism is underway. We intend to cover accreditation at two levels, viz. 1. institutional level (Colleges, faculties, and universities), and 2. Program Level (Graduate and Postgraduate) 2 Criterion: Mission statement and objectives: Measure: The agency has formulated a mission statement and objectives which are consistent with the nature of the agency Vision To provide public assurance of the quality of higher education in Nepal accepting the quality as a defining element through a system of self study and external evaluation process. Mission The mission of QAAC is to leverage the quality of higher education in the country through -- â?¢ motivating the institutions to voluntarily participate in the QAA programs, â?¢ periodic evaluation and accreditation of institutions and their academic programs, â?¢ inspiration of the academic environment for the promotion of quality of teaching-learning and research, â?¢ encouragement for institutional accountability, autonomy and innovation, â?¢ collaboration with other stakeholders of higher education for quality evaluation, promotion and sustenance, and â?¢ establishment of the linkage with international agencies of quality assurance and accreditation.
