Nominee Application Form: Part C Please write a professional profile of 500 words. Professional Summary Description: I am currently the Director for Research and Innovation at Villa College. I hold a PhD in Information Systems specialising in Computer-based Distance Education from Massey University, New Zealand. As the Director for Research and Innovation I look after all the research programmes and activities at the college. I also overlook the quality of the research projects conducted at the college. I was the former Deputy Vice Chancellor, Academic Affairs (DVC-AA) at the Maldives National University. As the DVC-AA I was in charge of the internal quality assurance of all the programmes conducted the national university. I was also involved in designing and developing many programmes at the university. Prior to becoming the DVC-AA I was the head of Centre for Open Learning at the Maldives National University which conducted all the distance mode courses at the university. I have worked in several research projects and has published in a number of international publications. I also worked at the Universal College of Learning, New Zealand as an eLearning Advisor as well as a Lecturer at Massey University, New Zealand. He is also a member of the Management Committee of VUSSC (Virtual University of the Small States of Commonwealth) as well as a steering committee member of the Commonwealth Education Trust.
