Professional Summary Description: I am working as a professor of Pediatrics since 2000 in the faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University. From October 2003 I started to be involved in Quality Assurance of higher education through several activities. The 1st sector of activities included capacity building in the field. I attended several workshops and raining courses with international agencies ( academic governmental and non governmental ) in Egypt, USA ,m and UK.rnI have then participated actively in all projects of quality Assurance in higher Education in Egypt; including for example the Quality Assurance And Accreditation Project ( HE- 2004-2007), Development of National Academic Reference Standards in Medical Education ( 2007-2009), Egyptian Higher Education Institutional Continuous improvement and qualifying for accreditation project ( 2007-2010), and mointoring & Evaluation of New Programs in Higher Education> In my Faculty, Iam the Head of the Medica; Education Department. This makes me responsible for the follwoing main tasks : rnorganization , mentoring and training in all capacity Building Workshops of faculty staff, Coordinating of curriculum development activities, monitoring teaching learning and assessment process in the faculty ( as a consultant in the Quality assurance Unit of the Faculty. At the University level, I am a member of the University Committee for Curricula & programs, and I am the training consultant of the Project of enhancement of the system of student assessment and evaluation. I have shared with the national authority for quality assurance and accreditation as an expert in development of the different Quality & accreditation guidelines. I have also worked as a peer reviewer in the accreditation visit for one of the governmental Faculties of Medicine in Egypt . I also chaired one accreditation visit for the Faculty of Science , Assiut University. I'm the nominated chair for the next accreditation visit scheduled in the 2nd week of December.
