Professional Summary Description: I have worked in the Institutes of Technology and Polytechnics (ITPs) Sector in New Zealand for almost thirty years in many different roles. Within the institutes these roles have included tutor, course supervisor, head of school, dean of faculty, acting chief executive, internal academic auditor, programme developer and reviewer, internal evaluator and reviewer, policy developer and consultant. My work in New Zealand for ITP Quality has been at the forefront of developments in quality assurance in the ITP Sector over the past ten years. My roles have included lead academic auditor, quality systems evaluator and policy developer. As Lead Academic Auditor, I have been involved in the external or internal academic audit and/or review of eighteen of the twenty ITPs. As a Quality Systems Evaluator I have been involved in QMS reviews and degree approval and accreditation evaluations. Since 1998, I have completed many overseas consultancy projects. I have provided advice on internal and external quality assurance to the governments of Samoa and Tonga, the tertiary institutions in these countries, the University of the South Pacific, and the Technical Education and Skills Development Agency in the Philippines. I have also conducted many evaluations and reviews for the New Zealand Agency for International Development and other international agencies, including in Niue, Fiji, Tonga, Solomon Islands, Tuvalu and other South Pacific nations.
