Professional Summary Description: Susan joined the Oman Accreditation Council in September 2009 as a Senior Quality Audit Coordinator. Her main role is to provide executive support and professional advice in relation to audits associated with Higher Education Provider institutional accreditation. Susan has a background in science having graduated with a BSc (Hons) Biochemistry from Imperial College of Science and Technology (London) and completed two years of post graduate nucleic acids research at St George?s Hospital Medical School (London) before moving to the Sultanate of Oman. In Oman, Susan initially worked in the field of English Language teaching and teacher training, working for the British Council and subsequently for Petroleum Development Oman. Between these posts, she returned to the UK to complete a Master?s Degree in Teaching English as a Foreign Language at Reading University and subsequently completed a number of short-term contracts for Reading University both within the Centre for Applied Language Studies at the university and overseas. In 1997 Susan joined the International College of Engineering & Management (Muscat, Oman) where she held a series of senior positions (Head of English, Educational Development Manager and Assistant Dean) before taking the position of Head of Standards and Quality which she held from 2005 - 2009.
