Nominee Application Form: Part C Please write a professional profile of 500 words. Professional Summary Description: I joined the Oman Accreditation Council (Oman Academic Accreditation Authority) in August 2007 as Quality Audit Coordinator. My main duties are to manage the national institutional quality audits and provide training on the institutional quality audit process. I have also been involved in writing the Quality Audit Manual and Standard Classification of Education Framework; training external reviewers and in project development. I have co-authored a number of journal articles on the role of quality, and particularly on the impact of quality audits in Oman.rnrnI came to Oman in 2000, initially to run the British Council Teaching Centre in Seeb. In 2003 I joined Caledonian College of Engineering as Head of Educational and Professional Development, responsible for introducing Personal Development Planning modules into the engineering curriculum. In 2006 I became Associate Dean (Professional Development) and a member of the College Executive.rnrnI originally trained in the field of English language teaching (ELT) and worked in Turkey, Italy, South America, Japan, France, Bahrain and Saudi Arabia before coming to Oman. I was able to use my experience in this area in my role as the Chair of the English Language Working Group for the General Foundation Program (GFP) Standards developed by the OAC and approved by the Ministry of Higher Education. I am now working, in conjunction with colleagues, on developing an accreditation process for GFPs.rnrnI have been involved in teacher training and development since 1991, and have run University of Cambridge Certificate (CELTA) and Diploma (DELTA) level teacher training courses in a number of countries. I am also a recognized CELTA and DELTA external assessor and have worked as a management development trainer for the British Council. rnrnI obtained my MSc in Training from the University of Leicester, UK and am currently working on my Doctorate in Social Science. I have published a number of journal articles on personal and professional development and in 2006 was awarded the UNESCO International Centre for Engineering Education Silver Badge of Honour for distinguished contributions to engineering education.
