Professional Summary Description: Lazo Roljic is a university professor and researcher who has specialized throughout his career in organizational-technical and economic aspects of economy and social transition, particularly including education, many different schools, seminars and study visits. He worked for 21 years in the Institute of Economics, University of Banja Luka, where he was engaged as a project manager, author and chief researcher in numerous scientific researches and projects in the fields of development and organization of economic and social sectors, education and planning of human resources, development and developing and application of methods for economic analysis and management processes, functional and system analysis of social protection and services sector. In the period of last fifteen years, as a senior development expert and as local expert and consultant, he has successfully managed numerous studies and projects for the EC, UNDP, World Bank, Ministry for Urbanism and Spatial Planning of Republika Srpska and B&H Ministry for Civil Engineering and Spatial Planning, and to the Independent Biro for Humanitarian Issues (IBHI) Sarajevo. He also acted as a project team leader on some long-term and quarterly projects on national (the former Yugoslavia) and regional (SR Bosnia and Herzegovina) level in the field of corporate strategic planning, functional and system analysis of social protection and social services sectors, and spatial and education development planning. As a researcher and local consultant Lazo Roljic has applied economic analysis and made middle and long range projections to a wide range of specific development projects in a variety of fields linked to social and economic development, covering: education reform, employment policy and labor market, the economics of education, decentralization of services, labor migration, the financing of training, the impact of remittances on economic development, transition economies, poverty and social development, and climate changes mitigation and adaptation. He was an adviser of B&H Ministries of Labor and Social Policy and Ministries of Education on social and education policy, and consultant with various businesses and non-government organizations. He has applied economic analysis to a wide range of specific developmental problems in a variety of fields linked to social and economic development, covering: education reform, employment policy and labor market, the economics of education, decentralization of services, labor migration, the financing of training, the impact of remittances on economic development, transition economies, poverty and social development; During his stay in USA, from October 1998 to April 1999, as a Fulbright scholar, he organized and taught undergraduate course of Analytical Methods in Management on DuPree College of Management, The Georgia Institute of Technology, Atlanta, GA.
