Professional Summary Description: My name is Dr. Maha Rashwan, i graduated medical school with honors in 1991, and was appointed as a demonstrator, assistant lecturer and currently lecturer of Pathology in the faculty of Medicine -Suez canal University. As an educator, I was involved in various educational aspects in my faculty besides my specialty in pathology. I established the MCQ committee and MCQ Bank; I headed the evaluation and monitoring committee prior to the establishment of the quality assurance unit and I was a member of the management team that carried out our first school self study. I participated in establishment of the quality assurance unit that I later held the post of its deputy director. Part of my responsibility in the quality assurance unit was to design student questionnaires and to conduct course and program evaluation and prepare the faculty annual report.rn I was a member of the team developing the strategic plan of our faculty, and I participated in drafting the strategic plan for the university as well. In 2008 I was recruited by NAQAAE (then, a newly established governmental authority for accreditation of education) to participate as a consultant in setting quality assurance and accreditation criteria for higher education. following which I was offered the post of technical office director (which I currently hold). Through my post, I was responsible for drafting the initial versions of other criteria issued by NAQAAE including ( accreditation of open and distance learning programs, accreditation of e learning, good practices in internal quality assurance) .rn In addition I participated in drafting NAQAAE strategic plan as well as other aspects of NAQAAE activities including developing a proposal for an Egyptian national Qualification Framework.rnI also was responsible for preparing training material and conducting training workshops for the training of peer reviewers for external evaluation of higher education institutions. rnIn March 2010, I graduated Masters in medical education offered through distance learning Jointly by Maastricht and Suez-Canal universities (top of class ) .rnI was a member of the National Task force that set a proposal for a nationalcareer guidance policy for Egypt.rn In 2011 I coordinated the NAQAAE reviewers team that accredited the American University in Cairo. rnI am Currently working on a number of projects as part of my duties in NAQAAE , at the top of which is developing the Egyptian National Qualification Framework.
