Professional Summary Description: Roel Bennink is project leader for the assessments of teaching and research, and coordinator for research assessments at the independent agency QANU (Quality Assurance Netherlands Universities, www.qanu.nl). Before QANU was established in 2004, he worked in the Quality Assurance department of the Association of Dutch Universities (VSNU), where he was also policy advisor in the areas of information policy and funding systems. He has vast experience in supporting peer review committees in teaching and research in all academic fields, from Philosophy to Physics and from Chemistry to Sociology. He gives presentations about the research review system, including the assessment of societal relevance of research.
