Professional Summary Description: I am an independent and experienced consultant, adviser, assessor and auditor of Higher Education, especially in the UK and the EU, including expertise in curriculum development and all aspects of quality assurance (QA). I was also recently a member of a UK team which reviewed the QA provision of 18 UK universities delivered in Singapore. Current roles include Chairman of the Board of the European Accreditation Agency for the Life Sciences (see www.eaals.eu) and acting as an independent auditor for the UK Quality Assurance Agency.rnrnI was formerly Dean of the School of Agriculture (1997-2001), Director of Research and Dean of Academic Affairs (2001-2009) at Harper Adams, the leading, specialist land-based University in the UK.rnrnMy academic expertise is in agronomy, crop and plant sciences. My research expertise is in photosynthesis, the interaction of agrochemicals with plant physiology and the post-harvest physiology of potatoes.
